My latest Rag Quilt. This time I stayed with just one fabric and the result is this soft and very girly shabby chic yellow rage quilt!
I used all the same fabric on one side and the back side is a solid pale yellow.
I love this quilt.
I want to make it again in a bigger size size. Right now it’s the size of a baby quilt. I would love to have this draped across the foot of a bed or even to have it in a lap sized quilt size would be nice.

They look so soft and cuddly . . . more than a regular quilt. That and the fact that I like trying new things. I love your cabbage rose fabric. The print and the colors just come together and make such a delicate quilt. It is perfection.

Oh my goodness I just love it!!! I love the colors and the pattern. It reminds me of the quilts my grandmother used to have and the ones I would curl up under on Friday nights after her rolling my hair and we would watch Dynasty. Well done!!!

Hi! Thanks so much for your kind comment! The blocks I used were 8 x8 and I use a lightweight quilt batting in between all of the squares. I really did enjoy just sticking to the one fabric...it really made for a very pretty quilt. Good Luck with yours!!

ReplyDeleteHi Vanesssa. Thanks so much for the kind words. I love this quilt too! I know that most rag quilts are made of flannel but actually none of mine are! Ha! I like using regular cotton blended fabrics. Anything you might use for regular quilting works just fine. I have had good luck with all the fabrics I have tried. The only one that didn't ruffle up as nicely as all the other ones I have made was a seersucker-ish is that is a word type of fabric. But even that still worked. I have also used a very inexpensive solid broadcloth for the back side on a lot of the quilts I have made and they look great. I find a lot of my fabrics at Hobby Lobby and have ordered online from fabric.com. The local fabric/sewing shop in my town also somethimes get some incredibly cute fabrics that I like to splurge on.
