Stenciled Hand Towels

Stenciled Towel 010

Here is something fun that I just made and added to my powder room as part of my Christmas decorating.  It’s a hand towel that I cut from a piece of Painter’s Cloth and hand stenciled with one of my favorite stencils from my favorite stencil source MAISON DE STENCILS.

The towels were made in much the same way as the  Noel Hand Stenciled Napkins that I made and blogged about last week.    I used one of my existing hand towels as a pattern for the size I wanted and cut it out of a piece of Painter’s Cloth.  I then sewed a double hem on all four sides being sure to fold in approximately 1/4 inch, ironing it down, folding that in another 1/4 inch, ironing it down again, and then stitching it down with my sewing machine.    Very easy.

Then I simply took my stencil and played with how I wanted to lay out the words and this is what I came up with.    I folded my towel the way I wanted it to hang on the towel ring first to make sure I knew how much space I had to work with.

This towel incorporated all that I love.  It’s a fun and easy craft project, it has numbers, and it’s French!!

Joyeux Noel!!
