I can’t remember the last time I had my nails professionally done. I might have to pick up some new colors as I keep seeing great photos of polished nails lately on Pinterst and have started to collect them. I LOVE this coral color.
How fun to go strawberry picking with your nails looking like this? Ha!
Then later in the summer I could switch to watermelons as my fruit of choice.
And these tye-dye nails are fun. The “recipe” on Pinterest said this is how to do it:
“get a bowl of water, pour little bits of all the different shades you want, it should float on the top, swirl with a toothpick or something like it and when it looks like you want on top of the water, then dip your nails through the water..” I wonder if this works? Anybody ever try to do this?
And these silver nails are pretty. Makes we want to break away from the Cotton Candy Pink that I’ve been wearing on my toes for the past few summers. Polish on my fingernails doesn’t seem to last very long on me between having my hands in the sink at home and in cheese display cases around town, my nails take a beating. But I am feeling more “girly” than usual lately so maybe this weekend I’ll pick up some new colors or maybe even go and have a little something more professional done. That would be a treat alright!
Have any color suggestions for me?

One of my favorite colors is OPI's "I'm Not A Waitress Red," I have it on my toes right now! I love the strawberries and watermelon! I love getting mani/pedi's but the mani's never last, I use my hands so much, especially gardening, even with gloves . . . what a fun post!
Wasn't Karen's Challenge fun, are you going to do it?
I like REAL RED...no purple cast or orangey so for the summer I ALWAYS go w/ OPI red. I wear lots of bronze or white sandals and the OPI red always looks gorgeous!! I mostly skip mani's...they just get beat up too fast.
I love a hot pink polish in the summer. It just seems to look good with tanned hands and feet.
Getting my nails done is the ultimate in pampering and I do it about twice a year. It is part of my March pre-France ritual! I go in the afternoon before I leave or the morning of. I always choose OPI Passion. Pale pink. Boring maybe, but my favorite! Great post!
I haven't done my nails in so long (DIY usually messes everything up) but I too have seen so many pretty nail polish inspiration pictures on pinterest. My daughter tried the newspaper print one and it was cool. The matte finished caught my eye. I love orangy-red. OPI's Smokin in Havana is one of my faves. That melon color is beautiful for summer!
I love OPI's Lincoln Park after Dark! Right now I have a pewter-y shade on my toes. Doesn't look all that summery, so perhaps I need to mix it up a bit!
What your looking for is a tutorial on marbling. My daughters and i have done this and love it. Best blog I have found for this is mysimplelittlepleasures.blogspot.com
Thanks for the color suggestions! I stopped by Ulta yesterday and they were having a buy 2 get 2 free on their nail polish. I picked up a pretty pink, a gray, and then got the white and pale skin tone color needed for a French manicure. Having fun with them today.
I have the OPI silver one you included. It looks great for all of two days and then chips like there's no tomorrow!
My fave right now is Chanel's Black Pearl. I know when you think black you can't help but think GOTH but it's a dark, metallic black which is lovely.
Love the Blanc Petale.... very subtle. The tie dye is a riot! What a fun color for a summertime celebration.

Love the coral color! I like to keep my toes red red, but all of these are great. I really like the white and silver! Thanks for the ideas...not that I'll keep my nails painted...they take too much damage working in daycare!

Do you know what the name of the coral Essie polish is you posted? LOVE it!
Jody, your profile doesn't give your email address or any other way to contact you. Hope you check back here. The original photo that I found was from flickr and it is either called "Cute as a button" or "Essie Summer 2009". Not sure if that is the name of the color or not. Hope that helps.
