Père Noël Stenciled Pillow

 Christmas Decorations 2011 054

I have started decorating for Christmas and I almost forgot to put this pillow out.  I made it this past summer and it’s been sitting on the top shelf of my closet ever since and almost missed it’s début.    I made it from a stencil that I ordered from my favorite stencil source, Maison de Stencils.  I made a quick cover for an old pillow that I had out of some painter’s cloth.  You can check out one of my past posts called Stenciled French Pillow to see how I did it.   Then it was just a matter of stenciling the image on to the pillow cover.  I am really happy with it!

And earlier today I found a great tree skirt at TJ Maxx for the snowflake tree I am working on in the sunroom.   You’ve got to love the dollar store for those giant snowflakes.  I am almost done with that tree.  I am working on three trees this year.   Yes, three and it’s about to kill me!   And it’s only because I am hosting part of the progressive dinner for the annual “Tour of Trees” party.  I have until December 9th to get them done.   Otherwise, I would have left half of the decorations boxes in the attic!  I’ll be back soon with more  Christmas tree photos as I get them done.  Have you started decorating yet???

That pillow is so cute.

We are all decorated but we didn't have three trees to deal with. Love those giant snowflakes. Have you seen that new Starbucks commercial? The one where they fly snowflake kites?

You can buy the kites for $50 a piece!

I cannot imagine decoratine that many trees. However, it looks like you're off to a great start. I love the colors you chose for this tree. I haven't been to the $1 store yet this season. I better go soon as I know it gets picked over fast. Can't wait to see all of them. Debi

Your pillow looks great, Lisa! I do that, too. I either find something or make something for Christmas in the middle of the year and it goes in the closet. I usually find it in January! I need to make a trip to the dollar store. I kept things fairly simple this year. How exciting that you are on a tour! I have three trees, too. The one main big one and two small ones. I've left the small ones decorated for the most part and throw a large trash bag over them. They store fine that way for me and then I just add and fluff a litle when they come out.

Your stenciled edges are so crisp. I think stenciling is a lot harder than it looks. You always do a nice job on your stenciling projects.

I agree with the above commenter. Stenciling is SO hard and your lines are so crisp! The pillow is precious and so is the tree skirt. I admire you and your 3 trees. I'm calling it one and done this year...which is actually not so hard because the tree never came down from last year! ;-D
Thanks for bringing holiday joy to the blogosphere!
