THE SECRET INGREDIENT
Do you need to make an appetizer anytime soon and want something that is quick and easy??? Here is something new to try. When I was out and about today, one of the stores I was in was offering samples. Of course I had to see what they were offering. Oh my goodness, it tasted delicious! The demonstrator turned out to be the sweet daughter of someone I used to work with and she told me how she made it. The secret ingredient is Boar’s Head Brown Sugar and Spice Ham Glaze!! (It’s a cooking sauce too….says so right on the jar.) :)
I love recipes like this one where it’s quick and easy, is unbelievably delicious, and looks pretty!
CREAM CHEESE LOG WITH BROWN SUGAR GLAZE AND CRANBERRIES
INGREDIENTS:
1 8oz. block of cream cheese,
1 small can of pineapple tid-bits
1 jar of Boar’s Head Brown Sugar and Spice Ham Glaze – Cooking Sauce (sold in the Deli section of a supermarket that sells Boar’s Head Products.)
Dried Cranberries
Pecans, chopped (optional) (toasted for extra flavor)
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the drained pineapple bits. ( If the pineapple bits are too big, use your knife to cut them into smaller pieces. Form the cheese and pineapple mixture into the shape of a log and place on your serving plate. Spoon some of the Brown Sugar and Spice Glaze over the top of the log. Sprinkle Cranberries over the top. If desired, sprinkle on some chopped pecans. Serve with crackers, bagel chips, or sliced French bread.
Now tell me that doesn’t sound delicious! I can’t wait to make this.
