Goodwill Nativity Set

Goodwill Nativity Set 002

We we were able to get all the lights up on the house over the weekend but haven’t even started on the inside yet. Our First Year College Student daughter doesn’t want to miss out on decorating the tree so the plan is to buy the tree the weekend she comes home which should be around December 16th and do the big tree with her then.

In the meantime, I still have two other trees to get started on. I have a slim tree for the dining room which I have to admit is my favorite. I like to collect ornaments that look like food and I like to put them on that tree. The other tree I like to put in the bay window in our office because you can see it from the street when you drive by. Both of these are fake trees. We save the real tree for our “family” tree and that is the tree I put all of the ornaments the kids have made over the years. Hopefully we can get started on the inside of the house sometime this weekend.

I popped into the Good will on the way to work this morning and look what I found! A white porcelain nativity set for $4.99. It is so pretty and simple and of course it represents the true meaning of Christmas.

What a score! That reminds me of one that got away....

At least I was able to find a nativity set, it's pretty old and the manger is falling apart. Going to blog about it and how my son and I are going to "hopefully" fix it.

Love the white set, you did good! GW never ceases to surprise me with it's bounty.

That is a great and special find. When I was in Italy in October, I kept looking longingly at those beautiful carved wooden sets so far out of my price range! I barely had enough money on my new retirement income to eat and, well, with my stomach always growling, food won out over Christmas decorations.

I have never seen anyone find more great things at Goodwill. I told you that I had move to a new state and I am heading out to our Goodwill to see what they have. I am not one that has time to fix things (projects) as you do but after I get settled I will. You have hit the jackpot lately.

Great find! It looks to be very pretty. That is so cool that your daughter doesn't want tree decorating to begin without her...cherish her!
