New Pillows for the Porch

Porch Photos 002

I finally found some new pillows for the front porch this week.  I know I really need to invest in some nice cushions that have a “Sunbrella” fabric on them but they are too expensive for me right now.  So, I will throw my money away on these less expensive cushions that I found at TJ Maxx this week.  They didn’t have a matching bench cushion so I improvised and placed two single seat cushions next to each other on the bench and it works fine.  I am happy with the black and white fabric and it works with the big green pillows I picked up at Costco a few weeks ago.  The former cushions were almost flat and so faded.  It was time for them to go.

Here is the porch “Before”.  See how faded and flat the cushions are?

And here it is “After”.  I think the new pillows make a huge difference.

The fire fly shows haven’t started quite yet.  I give it another few weeks and we’ll be able to sit out here and watch the fire flies.   I guess tonight we’ll have to be content watching the dog.  Or the thunder and lightening if we get the storms as predicted.  Either way it will be entertaining. :)

I hope you have a great weekend.  My plans are to finish the desk that I have been working on for our daughter’s new apartment.  She moves in next week.  And I would like to get my tomatoes planted.  I haven’t waited this long to plant ever.  Something about all the weeds needing to be pulled first has kind of dampened my enthusiasm!

Amazing how new pillows can transform the look of a porch. The black and white is PERFECT with the black wicker. Really nice choice!

The porch looks great! Love the new cushions. I just got new cushions for our set from Home Goods. Ours were not even cushions any more. Like two pieces of fabric sewn together. I was so glad that I found them there though. Saved alot of money!

I'm always inspired by your porch. We are in the process of stripping the old paint off our concrete screenporch, and I'm going to do a faux finish in tuscan-ish colors. Today I'm planting petunias and geraniums! Happy day!

Your porch looks so pretty. I gave my mom our old wicker porch furniture for her sun porch and she's having the same fading and flattened look that you had. I wish I'd thought to get her some new cushions for Mother's Day. I think you just gave me the inspiration for her summer birthday gift!

Yes, weeds have a way of dampening enthusiasm. I have plants to get in too, but, like you, I need to pull some weeds. I think some lunch first, then weeds! Your new cushions look great!

I think your pillows look great with those chairs. And the tray picks up the colors in the flooring. Gorgeous porch to sit on and gaze at whatever is happening!

Your porch looks great and very inviting. I recently purchased some new cushions for the chairs on our back patio and they have certainly brightened things up.

Love, love, love the porch!

Found this lamp base at our Target yesterday and thought of you and all your cute stencils. I passed it up but thought about it all night and am going back for it after work! http://www.target.com/Glass-Jar-Lamp-Base/dp/B0036F52RC/ref=sc_qi_detaillink
